A productive bank holiday

We had visitors today and ok I may have been a bit rude, but after dinner I went upstairs to finish quilting a mug rug.  It is a custom order and I have deadlines so I excused myself and went to finish it off.

I use 1/4" tape to act as an initial guide for this sort of straightline quilting.  Once I have a line quilted I simple choose one of the widths of my quilting foot.

I also used some Aurifil thread for the binding that I was sent as part of a giveaway (I will be hosting this beginning Sept). I  LOVE this thread, it's so smooth and wonderful to work with what a difference!

Job done, 2 mug rugs going to loving homes!!!

  1. I love the fabric with the teapots? Can I ask where it's from?

  2. Very nice Fi. Who stocks the thread? Hasn't it been great to have an extra day of sewing this week!

  3. I've done that, but worse. I didn't have a deadline. It wasn't a custom order. I just wanted to stitch after two days of non-stitching in my own house. I guess we do what we can and our friends will (hopefully) understand.

    The mugrug is adorable!

  6. They are beautiful, and leaving guests to it sounds like a great idea, even if you are just sewing for fun!!

In case you think I am being awfully rude by not acknowledging your comments it is because I find that a lot of you are NO REPLY bloggers.

You need to change your settings and input your email address so that I can reply. There are blogs that walk you through the process but fear not it is not hard to do!
